Danny Azoulay is a Jerusalem artist with a passion for creating high-design papercut ketubahs that both honor the past and carry meaning and tradition into the future. He calls the ketubah “a couple’s first family heirloom" and is mindful of this responsibility as he creates beautiful, architectural pieces to grace the home for years to come. This ketubah is an exuberant celebration of nature and detail. Concentric borders of pattern, delicate branches, and intricate tiles speak of the Morocco of the artist’s childhood. Two strong trees bend towards the center, joined by the text of the ketubah and a menorah on a trellised background. These themes represent the harmony of the couple, at one with each other, with nature, and with their faith. The ketubah is accented by gold leaf that sets off its symmetry and classic motifs.
